For reasons unknown, the San Nicolas area has recently been confronted with numerous fires. There have been multiple fires at Weg Rooi Hundo and now there was one in Tulpenstraat.
On Monday at around 12.50 am, residents at Tulpenstraat 66 in San Nicolas sounded the alarms for a pretty large fire in the yard of the neighboring house which could have easily burned the whole house down.
Both firefighters as well as police officers arrived at the scene to fight the fire and get rid of debris that might catch fire quickly.
The owner of the house also pitched in to try and put the fire that was threatening his house in the early morning hours. Finally, the firemen managed to get the seemingly intentionally lit fire under control.
Now is the time for police to start with their investigation. Putting out these fires comes with its costs, and if it turns out that somebody will have to pay for their crime, both literally and figuratively.
