In three months there will be a new parliament constellation

Yesterday, the Wever-Croes Cabinet handed in their retirement letter to the Interim Governor, however, there are still a few months before the new elections in September. Not only was there word of the resignation of ministers, but the entire Aruban government was disbanded.

The vice president of Aruba’s Electoral Advice, Hubert Maduro said there will be no new elections. There are two things occurring parallel with one another. The Governor accepted that this cabinet will continue running the ongoing matters until a new cabinet takes over. This must be based on a new Parliament for Aruba, which means that the cabinets will have to discuss matters for around 3 months. It will take roughly 3 months for Aruba to have a new Parliament.

The new election was scheduled to take place by the end of September and the list had to be handed in by the 6th of August, roughly 6 or 7 weeks before the election. Now there will be an election as soon as possible, Maduro stated. The law states that there must be a reigning parliament of Aruba three months after its dissolution.
