Persecuted on foot and by car: resisted arrest and vehicle wrecked

Thursday night at around9:45 pm, the police gave a vehicle a signal to stop, but it was ignored. The Nissan March was then followed and the situation ended in an arrest.

At the intersection of Avenida Alo Tromp and Emmastraat, the car accidentally hit a lamppost. The driver tried to continue on foot but was stopped by the police and detained on the spot. The arrest did not go smoothly, however, the police had to carry the driver into the transport vehicle. The arrest seemed like something you would see in a movie, not only his hands were cuffed, but his feet as well.

Sometime during the arrest on foot, his pants came off. The police transported them to the police station in their underwear. At the station, their fate was to be determined with regards to either being incarcerated or being set free. Two district police were dealing with this situation. The pursuit was not a particularly lengthy one, but it did leave behind a significant amount of damage in its wake. According to information, even a police vehicle received some damage in the process. Traffic police arrived at the scene to tend to the accident while the March was towed to the police station.
