Fire in Palm Beach caught the fire department off guard

This afternoon at around 2:15 pm, the fire department was called to a fire in Noord in the Palm Beach neighborhood. A fire that started out small in the corner at Palm Beach #40 quickly spread and started threatening houses in the vicinity. A unit of firefighters and two police units arrived to tend to this incident.

Neighbors informed us that the home situated at Palm Beach #40 has been uninhabited for quite some time. The owner of the home lives in The Netherlands and left their Antiguan-style home behind.

The firefighters secured the home as soon as they arrived in order to prevent it from spreading while other firefighters went to combat the flames in the surrounding area. It took some time before all the smaller fires in the area were under control. It is evident that the fire spread quickly based on all the scorched land it left in its wake.

The fire department has had its hands full with fires these last few months. They are starting to question whether these fires are being started intentionally. The police are currently investigating if there is a suspect behind all of these fires.
