Between Sunday the 8th of August and Sunday the 15th of August, so just one week’s worth of time, Aruba counted no less than 895 new positive COVID-19 cases on the island. So in just seven days, nearly 900 people were infected with the virus. There is no information regarding whether or not these people were vaccinated the moment they contracted the virus.
On the 8th of August, there were 12455 positive cases, and yesterday this number was 13350. The number of active cases has also continued to increase, despite the fact that people are recuperating. As the number of people who are recuperating and being freed from isolation is less than the number of new cases per day. In one week, the number of active cases increased from 807 to 1084. It should also be mentioned that the number of COVID-related deaths also increased by 8 people in just one week, going from 111 to 119.
