COVID-19 has become severe: Ambulance is constantly transporting patients

Due to the fourth wave of COVID-19, the boss of the Ambulance department, Liberato Hoek, emphasized how important it is to notice how serious the COVID-19 pandemic is.

Since the start of the pandemic, ambulances have made over 900 transportations related to COVID-19. 475 of said transportations have occurred since January of this year, with 90 of them occurring just in the month of August alone. He continued by saying that from Tuesday night until Wednesday morning, they made a total of 15 transportations related to COVID-19.

You must also take into account that there are issues besides COVID-19 that they must attend to, namely car accidents, heart attacks, strokes or just people becoming ill in general. All of this, according to Hoek, has been quite a heavy load for the ambulance to handle.
