MEP and RAIZ are ready to sign the agreement for government 2021-2015

One month and ten days after having signed the agreement of having the intention to work together, the two political parties MEP and RAIZ, who have managed to secure 11 seats after the most recent election, are ready to form the united government. With this, the parties are one step closer to forming the next government, the Wever-Croes Cabinet II.

The parties came together at the California Lighthouse on the 8th of July to sign the agreement that stated they intended to work together in the next government. Wever-Croes stated that this location was selected because the lighthouse symbolizes integrity. The next agreement between the two parties will be signed today in the Nicolas Store in the center of San Nicolas.

This time the location was selected because it will, without a doubt, be the location that will save Aruba from the economic issues we are currently experiencing. Wever-Croes is convinced that the economic development that we need, will come out of San Nicolas, likely through the refinery. Specific companies were not mentioned, but it is known that there are at least two companies that wish to invest in a project concerning the refinery. However, because there is not a concrete manner to acquire the required budget for these projects, they are not set in stone as of yet.

The government agreement will encase plans and visions from both political parties, combined into one single document that focuses on shared main goals as to how the coming four years ahead will be managed. During an interview with 24ora.com, Evelyn Wever-Croes confirmed that the next step will include the naming of the next candidates for ministers. With that, they will also have arrived at the divulgence of tasks amongst the set ministers and parties. They expect that in the run of the next week, there will be more clarity on the candidates for the minister as well as the division of finances. In the end, Wever-Croes mentioned that “I expect that I will not have to ask for a second extension from the governor”.
