The vaccine is the instrument to accelerate the recuperation of our economy

On various occasions, the chamber of commerce and Industries Aruba (KvK) voiced the importance of the economic recovery for our island, in which it is essential for commerce to continue operating and providing service to maintain the confidence amongst our locals as well as with the tourists. Aside from that, KvK voiced its support of the vaccine, as it considers it to be the main instrument to accelerate the recuperation of our economy and tourism.

The number of active COVID-19 cases has increased drastically due to the Delta variant, and it is, therefore, crucial that we take the necessary precautions. KvK, once again, asks that everyone, especially those working in the private sector, continue their support of the vaccine. The more citizens get vaccinated, the higher our chances are of reducing the risk of contagion, and the more our opportunity for commercial activity will grow. By doing this, the acts of buying and selling, which are fundamental and beneficial for our entire community as they will reduce the uncertainty and bring back stability in our economy and workforce, will be able to continue.

The pandemic is still very much present and continues to put pressure on the entire world, both financially, socially, and emotionally. So, the increase in vaccinations, aside from the hygienic rules and the use of a facemask is an important aspect that has to be paid attention to and regarded as our new normal.

A vaccinated island and a conscious community create more security for ourselves and for tourists to continue visiting Aruba and feeling safe and comfortable while doing so.

All citizens (age 12 and older) who have yet to get vaccinated can register to do so or take advantage of the upcoming vaccination marathon happening this Sunday, the 22nd of August 2021, at the Ritz Carlton from 9:00 am till 4:00 pm.
