Vaccination is an act of love for your fellow man

There are different reasons as to why overweight or an obese person has a higher risk of experiencing complications that can even lead to death the moment they contract COVID-19.

Being overweight or obese is usually accompanied by one or more illnesses such as high blood pressure, diabetes, heart issues, and high cholesterol, amongst others. These are all reasons why an overweight person might be at higher risk.

For this reason, the international health organization recommends those who are overweight or obese do not hesitate to get the vaccine.

In Aruba, 83% of those admitted to the hospital are overweight accompanied by 38% of them having high blood pressure, 31% have diabetes, 7% have kidney issues, and 4% have heart issues.

The COVID-19 vaccine can help protect this group against having to be admitted to the hospital, developing complications, or even passing away due to COVID-19.

Getting vaccinated is not just an act of solidarity and mutual responsibility to ensure no one gets left behind, it is also an act of love for yourself, your family, and your country!

You can still participate in the vaccine marathon taking place today, on the 22nd of August at the Ritz Carlton from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm. Please do not hesitate: VACCINATE1
