Four more people pass away: COVID is costing lives

According to today’s report, 107 people have recovered from COVID-19 and there were a total of 74 new cases registered. Of these new cases, 4 are tourists and 70 are residents. This number represents a 24% positivity rate amongst our residents. 

The total number of active COVID-19 cases is now 731 and the number of COVID-related deaths has increased to 132 with the deaths of three residents and one undocumented person. None of the victims were vaccinated. 

The data indicates a continuous increase in new cases of a weekly averaging to 83 new cases per day and an average daily positivity rate of 25%. 

The hospital has informed us that there are currently 68 people admitted, of which 11 are in the ICU here on Aruba while the other 18 ICU patients are in Colombia (1 passed away). Furthermore, there are 39 patients on the general floor on the island.
