This afternoon at Papiamento Restaurant, the official signing of the Aruban prospect Daniel Benschop to the Chicago Cubs had taken place. In the presence of his parents, brother, family, friends, and agent Henry Martinez, Daniel signed all the paperwork together with Gian Guzman, director of DR Scout & International crosschecker and Kenny Socorro, representative of the Chicago Cubs and Coordinator International Scouting.
This signing marks the first time ever that an Aruban prospect joins the Chicago Cubs organisation. Daniel will furthermore also form part of the Henry Martinez Academy in the Dominican Republic under the guidance of Henry Martinez himself. In the past, Daniel had played and formed part of the organisation, Stars Baseball Aruba.
