Plans for new maritime police building announced

In an official opening ceremony this morning, APA together with the government of Aruba and the Police Corps came together to introduce the maritime police building, as well as the vision for border security for Aruba. This will certainly be beneficial and attractive for our tourism industry.

The Minister of Justice, Rocco Tjon explained this morning that the maritime police for a long time have been wanting to raise the level of security of Aruba’s borders but have been unable to due to a lack of a more advanced building and workspace. For this very reason, this investment is so important. Tjon thanked his fellow ministers who formed part of this project, Prime Minister Evelyn Wever-Croes, Minister of Tourism, Dangui Oduber, as well as Minister of Infrastructure, Geoffrey Wever, for their support and cooperation.

He also sent a word of gratitude to the Aruba Hotel & Security Foundation, whom he considers to be a strategic partner in this project. He is grateful for their support of the project in its totality and to share the vision and management plan to elevate the security of Aruba’s tourist sites
