Minister Dangui Oduber: the government is awaiting the COVID-19 numbers

From the 27th of February, the COVID-19 numbers were updated on a weekly basis, on Friday. This does not change the fact that many people are still getting tested after the events of this past weekend.

For now, the Minister of Public Health, Dangui Oduber who is responsible for the health of our tourism, explained how he has been awaiting the numbers and stated that they will be shared with the public as soon as they are made known.

EXIT STRATEGY

On the 17th of January, the Exit Strategy was introduced. This was advised to the Crisis Team as well as to the Minister to have a period to introduce this plan. This was executed according to plan, and an immediate decrease could be noted in the number of people who went to get tested, and therefore in the number of people who tested positive also greatly diminished, according to the minister.

Now we are experiencing an average of 6 positive cases per day and it is no longer necessary to update the public on the number of cases daily. It is therefore only done once a week.

TRENDSETTER

All other countries around the world have already gone back to normal, following in Aruba’s footsteps.

The minister uses Aruba as an example, as it is one of the first islands to announce its exit strategy, and execute it properly. Now we can see many countries around the world, including the Netherlands, following us and returning to normalcy.

Now the world is focused on another crisis, which is the ongoing war between Russia and Ukraine.
