Minister Dangui Oduber: Tourism saw positive growth during the weekend

The Minister of Tourism and Public Health, Dangui Oduber, is happy with the successful weekend we just had. Aruba is recovering its tourism and the numbers do not lie. Last weekend, the airport of Aruba received almost 10 thousand tourists. On Saturday, a total of 6069 tourists arrived of which 5337 were from the United States.

On Sunday, the airport received a total of 3828 tourists of which 3384 were from the States. The United States remains Aruba’s most important market which is why these routes are continuously monitored.

The exit strategy is showing the results we were hoping for, according to minister Oduber.

The Aruban government has made the decision to return to normalcy and eliminate all existing restrictions. With this, the focus is the recovery of Aruba’s tourism so that the economy can also recover and create new opportunities that Aruba so desperately needs.

Minister Oduber has all the confidence that the year 2022 will be the year of recovery of tourism back to 2019 levels. It must be said that Aruba’s recovery is thanks to the efforts by the Ministry of Tourism and Public Health together with partners such as ATA, AAA, APA & AHATA.

Minister Dangui Oduber is satisfied and optimistic about the tourism on the island. Tourism remains the main driver of our economy.
