Last weekend, the Pan Am Series II took place in Heredia, Costa Rica and Joshua Klaber participated in the 58 kilo category together with 20 other athletes from all over the world. This is Klaber’s second Pan Am Series as well as his second event for which he categorizes as an adult.
Joshua Klaber challenged the Canadian Mark Pashnin at first, who he beat and left on his knees on the field. His second time around, Klaber went up against American Melvy Alavarez, and lost both rounds. Melvy Alvarez went on to win the competition in the 58 kilo category.
Monica Pimentel coached Klaber and was very pleased that he won his first fight. She cannot wait to see how he will go on to develop his skills in the adult category. Now they are on to prepare for the next event in order to keep climbing the ladder toward success.
