SV Dakota together with the “Centro di Bario y Deporte Dakota” (community & Sport center) are celebrating 75 years this year and they will be celebrating this together with the neighborhood and loyal supporters.
Gilmar Croes, Presidente of SV Dakota, informed us that there will be various sports activities that will be taking place at the community center in Dakota before the anniversary event. These events will be starting this weekend with “bolas criollas”, which is one of the sports that has been resurfacing recently. Starting this Friday at 6:00 pm till 12:00 am, the community center will be hosting the night with “bolas criollas”. A total of 16 female teams and 18 male teams will be battling it out this weekend. “Bolas Criollas” is a family sport in which family members come together to form a team and play together. It is a game like no other and is always met with an amiable atmosphere and loyal fans.
Besides the bolas tournament, there will also be the Bfun walk happening this Saturday at 6:00 pm, hosted just for the residents in the area. The walk will be held in the neighborhood, the exact route is posten on all their social media platforms. It starts at the community center, heads in the streets above Tarabana, Sabana Blanco, re0entering Dakota (next to Wimco), and will finish at the community center.
Additionally, on Sunday there will be basketball games held on the community center’s own courts.
