Miss Universe contest canceled

There will not be a Miss Universe election this year, and the winner of 2022 will likely be crowned during the first half of 2023. This is what our sources confirmed Monday afternoon, and we await the official announcement soon.

No reason has yet been given for its cancelation. Chances are high that there will be two Miss Universe Contests next year in 2023, and that the new winner will be crowned later in the year.

An internal memo was sent to all national directors and a Puerto-Rican newspaper stated: “We will be holding the Miss Universe event in the first trimester of 2023, we will be announcing it soon.”

The honor and responsibility of representing Aruba were granted to Kiara Arends. She was crowned as recently as the 31st of July.
