Ady Thijsen passes screening to become Minister

After fulfilling his function as representative of Aruba in the European Union and acting Plenipotentiary Minister, the news just broke that mr. Juan ‘Ady’ Thijsen has met all the requirements to become the Plenipotentiary Minister of Aruba in The Netherlands.

The news was confirmed by a letter sent from the acting Governor of Aruba, Agustin Vrolijk.

In the letter dated September 19 directed towards the President of Parliament Edgard Vrolijk, it was indicated that after various screenings and background checks in the context of the Landsverordening Integriteit Ministers, the nomination for the Minister in The Hague came forward.

According to the results of the written declaration, Prime Minister Wever-Croes informed the acting Governor that they had reached a conclusion in which the candidate met all the requirements of being nominated.

Based on these documents, the acting Governor also concluded that the results do not stand in the way of the nomination and the candidate can move forward.

The letter also mentions according to article eight of the Statute, that the Governor shall appoint the Plenipotentiary Minister.
