DVG: Bivalent vaccines being administered as booster shots in neighborhoods

DVG’s team that is in charge of vaccination has already been to various neighborhoods with the “Bureau Rampenbestijding” mobile unit to provide the community with Pfizer’s Bivalent vaccines near the comfort of their own home.

Pfizer’s Bivalent vaccine targets the Omicron variant that surged recently, which will prevent this variant from causing an increase in COVID cases near the end of the year. DVG advises everyone ages 18 and up, and who already have 2 or more vaccines, to get the Bivalent vaccine as well. The Bivalent vaccine can only be administered as a booster shot, which is the reason those who wish to take this vaccine must have already had their first two Pfizer vaccines. The citizens ages 60 or older who have 3 or 4 vaccines already are advised to get this Bivalent vaccine as their next booster shot.

The dates and times during which the community can get their vaccines are:

  • “Centro Deportivo Frans Figaroa” in Noord on the 17th, 18th, and 19th of October from 8:30 am until 3:30 pm.
  • “Centro Deportivo Betico Croes” in Santa Cruz on the 24th, 25th, and 26th of October from 8:30 am until 3:30 pm.
  • “Stadion Joe Laveis” in San Nicolas on the 31st of October and on the 1st and 2nd of November from 8:30 am until 3:30 pm.

In order to receive a Bivalent vaccine, the citizen must come with their AZV card (or digital app), their Aruba Health App, a form of identification (ID) and their proof of former vaccines.

During the days that DVG is vaccinating with the mobile unit, it will be open from 8:00 am until 11:45 am, and then again from 1:00 pm until 3:45 pm.
