AVP member of Parliament Ryçond Santos do Nascimento has voiced his concerns on various occasions about the dump situation at Parkietenbos.
He commented on the situation in relation to the recent fire on Thursday evening which affected nearby residents.
The first thing that the fire affects is the health of the resident nearby. Second, Ursell Arends did not make an adequate connection between his policy on dump and the health of the residents.
According to Santos do Nascimento, the first thing that must be done is to study the impact of the dump site on the nearby areas and the residents. Second, the minister should go back to the past and review what Serlimar has stated to be the cause of the fire.
On at least one occasion government employees were spotted to have lit wooden pallets on fire, something 24ora.com reports have witnessed first hand. This illustrates that the Government itself is also partly responsible for the fires at the dump.
