The tremendous Christmas Dande Show took place on Tuesday night at the Brazil Community Center. Chico Harms, president of the foundation by the same name, stated that the Dande Shows are something that started 53 years ago, at a playground in the Brazil neighborhood. After the Brazil Community Center was established, they would go on to host the show there.
Chico says that he has been helping to organize these shows ever since he was very young. He went on to say that a total of seventeen groups participated this year and that this served as a sort of warm-up for the activities to come. He is referring to the children’s festival taking place on Wednesday and the main Dande Festival that will be taking place the following day.
This activity is planned with a lot of love, says Chico. We cannot allow Dande to die out. This is why we try to keep it alive as much as we possibly can every year. As of now, Chico said that it has been a tremendous year so far as many showed up to celebrate together this year.
