The police had to deal with yet another accident caused by a drunk driver just before the end of this week. This time it occurred at the Emmastraat and Avenida Alo Tromp intersection.
This intersection is notorious for being the location of many accidents. This time, however, things were a little different as high speed was not a factor. A Lancer that was parked by Glenny’s Corner reversed into a Kia that was parked behind it. The driver of the Lancer opted to speed off, but he did not manage to get very far.
Upon their arrival, the police determined that both vehicles involved were only slightly scratched. However, the situation changed when the police determined the driver of the Lancer to be intoxicated. They decided to test his alcohol levels, which did not do him any favors. They transported the man to the police station, where he will have to present in front of a persecutor, who will determine his fate.
