This week, the “Stichting Monumentenfonds Aruba” together with the Aruban Government, informed the public that they will commence the restoration of Cas Veneranda in Wilhelminastraat.
Anne Wistburg, director of “Stichting Monumentenfonds Aruba”, stated that the building needs a lot of work. After a long wait, they have finally received the green light for this project. Now the selection process for an architect will commence, in order to make the new design. The “Monumentenfonds” will also have to inspect the building in search of anything they might want to preserve, in addition to the building’s original color, which they want to bring back. They will finally be able to enter the building, which has been closed off for many years in order to investigate properly.
After a design has been made and the building is restored, the Department of Economic Affairs will be able to start renting out the building.
