American Airlines flight experiences a technical issue

Saturday morning around 11:00 am, an American Airlines flight coming from Charlotte sounded the alarms when arriving at Aruba. The pilot had gotten a warning that the aircraft’s hydraulic system was having an issue right as they were preparing to land. The pilot notified the Reina Beatrix Airport control tower right away, and the tower personnel, in turn, then notified the authorities.

Various ambulances and firetrucks were sent to the scene, while DVG and Red Cross personnel were on standby. The police closed off all nearby roads to the airport.

Just after 11:15 am, the plane was able to land without any issues and by 11:30 am, the police had re-opened the roads.

Luckily, flight AA9600 with 172 passengers as well as staff onboard, was able to reach Aruba safe and sound.
