After three years: Mariniers Kazerne now has a new commander

Recently, Prime Minister Evelyn Wever-Croes met with Commandant Frank Boots and Commandeur Walter Hansen. After 3 years of being the naval defense commander in the Caribbean region as well as the “kustwacht’ director, Frank Boots has returned to The Netherlands.

There has always been a positive relationship between the Aruba Mariniers Kazerne and the Curacao Marina Real. Additionally, the relationship between Kustwacht, Commander Boots, and the Aruba Police Force has always been focused on keeping our border safe.

On the 24th of August, the position was officially transferred over to Walter Hansen in Curacao. The government would like to thank Commander Boots for his years of dedication, his cooperation, and his efforts to help to protect Aruba’s coasts. We wish Commander Hansen the best in his new post.
