At around 1:00 p.m., we received eyewitness statements that reported seeing a chase on the water. In the end, the thieves were not caught.
According to our sources, two people were seen stealing a Seadoo (waverunner) from the pier right next to the government building.
An employee decided to follow these two individuals, who according to witnesses, went in the direction of Surfside Marina. A little while later, the employee lost sight of them. They do not know if they went to hide behind the reef area.
While this was happening, the Maritime Police were notified of the two thieves. Their last signal was spotted on the police’s radar as the thieves were headed to international waters headed toward Venezuela. This is strange, to say the least.
While this has yet to be confirmed, these two individuals are suspected of being the two thieves who were spotted robbing houses in Nuñe and Tanki Leendert earlier this month.
