Rebecca Jansen is the National Junior Cross Triathlon champion

Rebecca Jansen recently moved to The Netherlands to continue her education in Sport Sciences. Rebecca is famous in Aruba’s sport world as she runs, cycles, and participates in triathlons.

On Saturday morning, Rebecca participated in a National Cross Triathlon  Competition called XTERRA Netherlands in Ameland. Rebecca had to swim 500M in the ocean while wearing a wetsuit. She placed second in the girl’s junior division. She then placed first in the mountainbike juniors category.

The MTB route was 17 km long and passed through the sand dunes and on the beach. Rebecca mainend her lead during the 5 km run through the trail, which landed her the first place title in her category.

With this, Rebecca became the National Champion in the Junior Female category of the Cross Triathlon in The Netherlands. Rebecca received her gold medal and her red-white-and blue jersey for the Dutch Triathlon Federation.

It was certainly not easy for Rebecca to find a balance between her studies and her training. Nevertheless, she managed to get the gold! We wish Rebecca the best in her education and in her athletic career. Aruba is very proud of you.
