AHATA: September 2023 was more productive than September 2022

Aruba Hotel & Tourism Association (AHATA) compiles the occupancy figures and hotel prices every month, and AHATA’s CEO, Tisa LaSorte, announces that in September, while the occupancy rate was lower, the Revenue Per Available Room (RevPAR) increased.

SEPTEMBER 2023:

Occupancy: The occupancy rate was 71%, which is nearly the same as it was in September 2022, and 9% lower than the occupancy rate in September 2019.
ADR (Average Daily Rate): The average price per room sold was $268.48, which is an increase of 5% compared to September 2022.
RevPAR: The average revenue per available room was $191.69, representing a 4% increase when compared to 2022 and a 16% when compared to 2019. RevPAR is the key financial indicator before deducting operational expenses and taxes.

JANUARY – SEPTEMBER 2023:

Occupancy: The average occupancy for the first nine months was 78%, an increase of 6% compared to the same period in 2022. (Please note that tourism in the first quarter of 2022 was heavily affected by COVID-19)

ADR: The average price per room sold was $343,34, which is 13% higher than the same period in 2022.

RevPAR: The average revenue per available room for the first nine months was $267,16; 19% more when compared to the same period in 2022.

PROJECTION:

The current projection for average hotel occupancy in October is 73%, in November 77%, and in December 79%. The expectation for the full year of 2023 is a 78% occupancy rate, which represents a 7% reduction compared to the average in 2019.

TIMESHARE:

Occupancy in timeshare properties was 78% in September 2023.
