Beaches completely destroyed on Friday morning

High waves hit our beaches on Friday morning and some roads were completely flooded. Our reporters went to multiple beaches and noticed how the water flooded onto land and even crossed the road in some locations. They were also shocked to see how palapas and even the pier in Tamarijn had been completely destroyed by the brutal waves.

The water was so rough that it even seeped into a few of the rooms at Tamarijn. It is advised that no one enter the water.

WAVES ARE DESTROYING OUR BEACHES

Some people saw these high waves as an opportunity to go out and bodyboard. At Arashi, for example, the waves were so high that they got on land and dug into the sand on the beach.

Many tourists voiced their concerns on Social Media and posted pictures of the state of the beaches near their hotels.

UNSTABLE WEATHER

The weather is unpredictable and rain has been falling on multiple locations all around the island for the past few days. The bad weather will likely persist.

Winds are now moderate which might cause a damp and stuffy feeling, and the high temperatures during the day (between 33 and 44 degrees Celcius) are adding to the discomfort caused by the weather.

An abundance of humidity and unstable winds are caused by a disturbance in the atmosphere. This also accounts for the weak winds and increased temperature during the day. Please keep into account that it may rain sporadically during the day and make sure to plan accordingly.
