The Ladies SVT Social Formation group completes the first phase of the program

On Friday morning, the Ladies SVT Social Formation group concluded the first phase of the “Social Vormingstraject” at the Mariniers Kazerne. It was a truly significant and emotional day for the participants. Proud parents welcomed them at the entrance of the Kazerne early in the morning, some with tears in their eyes.

This group was formed in August of this year and has now successfully completed the first phase of the program. For almost 16 weeks, they were engaged in the entire journey out in the wilderness. This first phase involved a kind of exam where the participants had to apply their experiences or demonstrate what they had learned during the initial weeks. They worked hard as a group and individually, and for some, it was easier than for others.

“It went very well. It’s tough, but not impossible,” said one of the young participants, Genesis Zapiain Veloz. She explained that you learn to work in a group, get to know different people, and learn to deal with different personalities. Every day brings a new challenge to overcome and achieve.

The group started with 12 participants, and 11 were able to complete this first phase. Unfortunately, one decided not to continue. “We tried to talk to her on different occasions. We don’t give up on our young participants that easily, but unfortunately, she decided otherwise, so the group got a little smaller. However, here we have 11 young people whom I am very proud of for completing the journey,” said Ras.
