Presentation book ‘Maternity’ at KIT Café Amsterdam

After Almere (https://www.almeredezeweek.nl/nieuws/uit/57683/boekpresentatie-en-expositie-moederschap-in-cafe-op-2) it’s now Amsterdam’s turn for this traveling presentation. The ‘Maternity’ project is not only a book in four languages as an ode to universal maternity, but also the authors Gustave Nouel (www.gustavenouel.nl) and Zuleika Coffie (https://www.imdb.com/name/nm3910548/?ref_=ext_shr) aim to build a bridge between the European and Caribbean part of the Kingdom and between them and the rest of the world, in the artistic sense of the word.

Coming Sunday, November 26, there will be a presentation of the book ‘Maternity’ at 3.30 p.m at the KIT Café Amsterdam, Linnaeusstraat 2 (in the building of the World Museum Amsterdam, former Royal Tropical Institute). ‘Maternity’ is a book with paintings of Gustave Nouel and short poems of Zuleika Coffie in the four most spoken languages on Aruba (Papiamento, Dutch, Spanish, and English). In support of the presentation some of the paintings depicted in the book will be exhibited. A book that could be instrumental in helping promote the Papiamento language. Coördinator Social Affairs and Culture for Aruba in Holland, mrs. Nuris Dabian is invited to perform the opening, representing Arubahuis/Aruba.

After a presentation planned for next March in The Hague, agreements have been made with Aruba and other interested overseas parts of the Dutch Kingdom starting May 2024 in the National Library of Aruba, where Zuleika Coffie and Gustave Nouel will also offer their expertise through workshops.
