On Saturday night at around 7:30 pm, an accident occurred on the main road in Cumana, just in front of Casa Vieja Bar & Restaurant. This is where the driver of a Nissan Versa struck a pedestrian and, as if that weren’t enough, left the injured person behind.
A witness reported that the driver did stop for a few minutes, but when he saw blue lights approaching, he sped away and left the scene. An ambulance arrived and provided medical attention to the pedestrian. Eventually, it was decided to take them to the hospital for more advanced medical care.
It didn’t take long for the police, after an extensive search, to locate the irresponsible driver who had hit the pedestrian. They arrested him and took him to the police station, where he will be presented before a prosecutor, who will determine his incarceration or release.
