It is one of the most popular parades in Aruba during the carnival period. Firstly, it’s at a convenient time, and it’s free. This year featured three bands for Jouvert Morning. Groove Masters kicked it off, followed by Buleria and the third, Tsunami. According to our observations, Groove Masters had the largest following, followed by Tsunami and Buleria as the last.
While thousands of people were dancing and having a good time, there were others who preferred to attend the carnival to cause trouble. When you violate the rules, the police have to deal with you.
Several arrests were made, mostly for fighting. From around Abraham de Veerschool, Joe Laveist, Flamboyanstraat, Pastoor Hendrickstraat, Lagoweg, and many more locations. The police did not play around; if you made a mistake, you faced the consequences! If you want to get out quickly, you’ll need to swipe to be released; otherwise, you might spend a few hours behind bars.
