Everyone escaped: the Don Juancho ship coming to Aruba with fruit sank nine miles off Punta Macoya

The crew of Don Juancho experienced quite the scare yesterday afternoon. They were on their way to Aruba when they encountered trouble at sea and sank.

In the past, the Don Juancho boat used to come to Aruba every week. During the pandemic, it stopped. Yesterday was its first trip with fruit again to Aruba. On the way, at nine nautical miles off Punta Macoya, within Venezuelan territorial waters, they began to encounter problems and took on water.

All they could do was sound the alarm for assistance. Thankfully, help arrived and managed to rescue all seven crew members. They all watched the loaded ship sink. They recorded how the ship disappeared into the depths.

It was a strong blow for the company to lose not only all the cargo onboard but the ship as well.
