Early Saturday morning at around 5:30 am, a serious incident occurred. Following threats with a firearm in San Nicolas the night before, Wendell Cordero, together with a friend, set two vehicles on fire.
The victim is Andres Valdez. He states that he normally doesn’t have issues with people. The only person he has a problem with is Wendell Cordero. The night before, he went to buy groceries in San Nicolas. There, Wendell Cordero approached and stood in front of his car.
Wendell Cordero is known to the authorities and has been arrested several times before. Andres Valdez explains that he hasn’t heard from Wendell in a long time. They’ve had issues with each other in the past because Wendell trespassed into his mother’s garden. He, himself, according to Valdez, doesn’t get involved in anything. He changed his life a long time ago and has his business and family to take care of. Now, with the situation that occurred, he hopes that justice does its job. If not, he will have to handle the situation his way. That means he’ll have to go back to his life from some years ago. This cannot be left like this. You can’t pull a gun and threaten at night and then, before leaving, burn two cars. When Wendell pulled out the firearm at night, the victim didn’t call the police. There are witnesses to what happened. In the end, he had to find a rock to defend himself from Wendell, who had pulled out the firearm and aimed it at him.
Early Saturday morning, just before 6:00 am, he heard a honking outside his house. People passing by started to sound alarms and honk to wake everyone up. When he got up, he saw how his two cars were on fire. He went to the hose and called the authorities. The police and firefighters arrived at the scene. The apartment suffered damages as well. His Kia was completely burned and is no longer usable. The work pickup truck Andres Valdez uses had its interior completely burned. Two men were recorded on security cameras; the men were wearing masks. One of them took care of the Kia, and the other took care of burning the pickup.
Now, Andres Valdez is left with two burned cars. His family car and his work pickup truck. A distressing situation that requires urgent attention. The police attended to the case early, and on Saturday morning, an investigation was conducted at the address to assess the damage and file an official report. All security footage will also be handed over to the authorities.
