On Sunday at around 4:15 am, the police went to Lekker Restaurant to tend to a pedestrian who was hit by a car. The driver of a blue Chevrolet hit the person just as they were crossing the road.
The driver of the car continued driving and stopped a little further ahead, acting as if nothing had happened. Immediately, the police began searching for the car based on information gathered at the scene and they managed to locate the car rather quickly. The driver was still inside.
The driver was then arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol. The victim was transported to the hospital as they sustained significant injuries to their body. The BfTO department and the traffic chief also arrived to gather information about the accident.
