On Saturday night at around 7:45 pm, police were called to La Oficina in Tanki Flip for an accident that ended in a heated altercation. The driver of a white Toyota Yaris, rear-ended an orange Honda Fit. Both vehicles were heading towards the Tanki Flip roundabout.
When the driver of the Honda got out to attend to the person who hit his car, he noticed that the driver of the Yaris was attempting to flee the scene. The wife of the driver of the Honda got out of the vehicle to stop the driver of the Yaris from getting away.
This sparked a heated argument. Police detained the driver of the Yaris since he couldn’t show any legal residency permit in Aruba. This was likely also the reason for attempting to flee the scene and avoid deportation.
