While the Prime Minister prefers to wait, RAIZ is confident that the same-sex marriage law will be approved

Wednesday is a very important day because the Parliament of Aruba will be discussing the same-sex marriage law. In the community, this topic has brought division, but the RAIZ party is confident that this law will be approved. On the other hand, the Prime Minister expressed that she would prefer to wait for the decision of the court of appeal regarding the same-sex marriage law.

Ursell Arends, Minister of Integrity, indicated in a press conference that it is the year 2024 and that everyone has rights. He believes that once this law is approved, it will be the first step towards creating harmony in the community. This is how RAIZ sees it.

He says “love is love,” and love knows no color or religion. Neither the government nor parliament can prevent a person from choosing whom they love or who they choose to build a life with. The Minister believes this is the right of every human being. On Wednesday, the decision is in the hands of the parliament, which will begin to grant rights and recognize the rights of every citizen who is part of the community.

Harmony is not just about recognizing nature; it’s about giving nature its necessary value. But harmony is also about recognizing the rights of every citizen who is part of the community. In this way, they are given the space to decide whom they love and with whom they want to build a future.
