Yesterday, during the day Parliament of Aruba debated on the supplementary budget of 2020. One of the most crucial budget in our country’s history, considering the situation Aruba is in now. A budget that must have funds for FASE, wage grant, medium and small enterprises, food packages, and all the other essential aspects needed to keep this country going.
Minister Dangui Oduber, in charge of Tourism, Public Health, and Sports, said that the fact that AVP voted against the people during yesterdays’ meeting was remarkable and condonable. They voted against everyone going through a hard time to continue receiving FASE, wage grants, and food packages. They voted against companies receiving aid for medium and small enterprises.
“We expected them to show more political willingness and maturity by putting political differences aside and for ‘once’ choose for Aruba and its people. But this didn’t happen, and once again, political party AVP demonstrated their willingness to find a way to boycott Aruba.”
As the Government, Oduber said, we presented a vision with perspective for the future. “We are convinced that the new economic pillar that we are exploring will help us come out stronger and resilient from this crisis.
“ You are opposition because you do not support the coalition, but you cannot be opposition against the people. You are going the wrong way if you cannot distinguish the difference,” Minister Oduber said, finalizing.
