To help commerce and its workers surpass the economic crisis caused by COVID-19, the Government of Aruba offered help in the form of a Salary Subsidy. Since May, companies that qualify for this help receive a notification from SVB and then within a matter of days must apply for this help, that covers 60% of the workers’ salary,
The goal of this financial help during the COVID-19 crisis is to secure jobs for the benefit of Aruba’s economy. In October 2020, 1590 companies received a Salary Subsidy to comply with the salaries of 20877 workers. The sum of this is 30.9 million florins.
