35 years ago Concorde landed in Aruba

“It was the first and only time that a supersonic plane landed on our island,” is what Michael Nicolaas said today during an exclusive interview with 24ora.com. He still remembers how much time was put into preparing for this flight’s arrival, on an aviation level, and for the firefighters and police.

The aircraft arrived in Aruba Saturday night, November 16, 1985, from Miami and left the next day back to Miami. Only executives from the company Concorde were aboard this flight. The plane has a capacity of around 100 passengers.
