The Government encourages shopping in the Mainstreet

Covid has affected Aruba’s economy and for which the Government had to take measures which affected businesses. The government has announced a campaign to shop local and show gratitude to the businesses on the Mainstreet.

The small businesses received financial aid to help cover their monthly expenses. We must work to keep the businesses open and to safeguard jobs. That’s why it was important to start this campaign, which is an initiative to improve commerce.

Thank you to Benjamin “Chipi Chipi” Pick of La Moderno for allowing the celebration to take place in front of his store. He has always believed in the country’s economy, and we want to honor Chipi Chipi. Many stores have closed, but La Moderna is still here and has given many people a job. The Government is grateful to businesses that are still open and has maintained jobs.

The video clip for the campaign is made and produced by local artist Jeon. The song’s goal is to encourage everyone to buy local. Let’s work together and help the local businesses, but also the economy of Aruba.
