Families receiving international visitors should be aware

The borders with South America will be opening soon, so many families in Aruba could be receiving friends and families from abroad. In many of these cases, they could be staying with people at home. However, the Government’s Covid-19 Crisis Team urges these families to contact their families or friends arriving from South America to remember to take the PCR test 72 hours before their flight and upload it when filling in the Ed card.

Even if the test is negative, families should be on an outlook for any symptoms their visitors may have during the first few days. If they develop symptoms, this person must go in isolation in a separate room immediately and call the family doctor.

Those traveling to Colombia must also have a negative PCR test 72 hours before traveling and upon arrival must go 14 days in quarantine.

Covid-19 Crisis Team hopes that this information will help prevent the spreading of the virus. Lately, there are many cases of people who are asymptomatic spreading the virus. This is why it is important to take all necessary measures, apply hygiene regulations, and maintain social distance.
