OM explains content IBIS case

Mr. Patrick van der Biezen, a Public Prosecutor, explains in a video on the organization’s website about the IBIS case for which the Court held a pre-trial review Wednesday early afternoon.

In the video, the Public Prosecutor explains what the IBIS case is about and who, apart from Paul Croes, appealed.   

He explained the ex-Minister was sentenced in February 2019 to 4 years for corruption, money laundering, misuse of function, hiring illegal workers, and participation in a criminal organization. 

The IBIS case started in March 2017 with 13 raids. The first time the case was presented in court (appeal) was at the end of 2019, but got postponed due to the pandemic and Paul Croes’s defense team’s petition. 

He also explained what happened during a pre-trial review and when they will decide to continue with the case.
