An unfortunate situation occurred during the morning hours. Police went to assist a man who had just been hit. This occurred during the curfew.
A little after 1:30 am this morning police were present in the street right behind the old police station in the main street – Zuidstraat – because there were rumors of abuse.
It was later understood that the man in question went up to a house in the middle of the night asking for water. It appears that the person he asked did not appreciate being disrupted at this hour nor the fact that he was out past curfew and decided to literally take matters into his own hands by hitting the man. He said he was going to file a complaint.
The police searched in the area, but they were unable to find anybody who was awake who matched the description.
