Our sincerest condolences to the families of the victims. The data indicates a continuous increase in new cases of a weekly averaging to 64 new cases per day and an average daily positivity rate of 26%.

The hospital has informed us that there are currently 56 people admitted, of which 12 are in the ICU here on Aruba while the other 16 ICU patients are in Colombia. Furthermore, 44 patients are on the general floor on the island.

DATA

Since the DELTA variant arrived in Aruba in July, 32 patients have unfortunately lost their lives to COVID-19. Those who have lost their lives while having received one or more of the COVID-19 vaccines ranged from the age of 75 to 94.  The ages of those who lost their lives due to COVID-19 who were not vaccinated ranged between 46 and 95. This data indicates that your risk of dying at a younger age due to COVID-19 is higher if you are not vaccinated.
