Coast Guard: Rescue and inspection in the area

Last Friday, the Coast Guard Center for Rescue and Coordination received a notification via VHF channel 16, which stated that was an issue. The captain of a fishing boat notified them that there was an issue that prevented him from navigating any further.

RCC notified Aruba immediately, so that our authorities could head out on Metal Shark to locate the stranded boat by the name Mishaili.
The moment the Metal Shark arrived at the specified location, they started towing the boat in the direction of the Pier in Bali, where Mishaili could get tied down safely.

Upon arrival at the Pier in Bali, the Coast Guard agents conducted a routine inspection on the little fishing boat.
Yesterday, RCC also received a notification regarding a fishing boat, Joandra, that was having trouble with its battery. A Metal Shark navigated toward Joandra and towed it in the direction of Spaanslagoen Rancho Carion. Upon arrival, the Coast Guard agents conducted a routine inspection on the little boat.

The Coast Guard advises all boat owners to do regular maintenance checks on their boats. For their own safety, they should have the following onboard: sufficient life vests, a flashlight with batteries and a whistle, a first aid kit, enough water, a fire extinguisher, VHF radio or a fully charged cellular phone. These items can lower your chances of having an accident or dangerous situation at sea with your boat or seadoo. In case you are in need of help, please call the Coast Guard at 913 or contact the Whatsapp number 005999 5100913. Please enjoy our oceans and beaches safely.
