Friday night at around 8:30 pm, the police rushed to Caya Jose Geerman to tend to a house that was on fire. Upon their arrival, they discovered that someone had set fire to some trash in the yard and then fled the scene.
The fire rapidly grew and was emitting a lot of smoke in the neighborhood. It quickly became a nuisance for anyone nearby. It was the neighbors who called the police, because the home itself appeared to be uninhabited.
In the end, it took a while before the fire department was able to extinguish the flames because they already had their hands full with another fire that was likely a result of the “Dia di San Juan” celebration.
