Intoxicated: lawyer and friend detained after accident

Saturday morning at 12:50 am the police went to Caya Frere Alexius to tend to an accident that had just occurred there. A resident had called the police after hearing a loud noise outside their home. Upon their arrival, the police encountered two women standing right outside of a Subaro. At first, the women told the police that one of the car’s tires had exploded.

The police, however, noticed that there was more to the situation because the vehicle’s bumper had a fresh scratch on it. Upon further investigation, they noticed damage done to the nearby house that matched the scratch on their car’s bumper. So it was obvious that they had hit the wall surrounding the home.

At first, one woman told the police who had been behind the wheel, but considering that both women appeared to be drunk, they decided to conduct an alcohol test on them both. Then the story suddenly changed and the person who was supposedly behind the wheel told the police that it was her friend who was driving instead. From there the lying and finger pointing continued.

Seeing how the conversation was heading nowhere quickly, the police decided to detain both women and transport them to the police station. One of them was rather rude to the police. She told the officers that she is a lawyer in Colombia and that she should not be treated this way. Despite her supposed job title, the police brought her to the station. A tow truck came to get their vehicle, as neither of the two women were able to show any valid documentation for it.
