Department of Public Health: make your vaccine appointments on time

Dienst Besmettelijke Ziekte (DBZ)  of the Department of Public Health is not the only one in charge of COVID vaccines, but other vaccines as well. They provide other vaccines against diseases such as Yellow Fever, Meningitis, Hepatitis, and more. When someone is going to travel, for medical, vacation, or educational reasons for example, it is important to know whether or not your destination requires you to be vaccinated in order to be able to enter their country.

Dienst Besmettelijke Ziekte (DBZ) has been confronted with people who are traveling in 1 to 2 days only to realize that they need to have certain vaccines. This not only causes delays in their systema, but also means that the traveler is not actually fully protected when traveling, as the vaccines usually take a full 10 days to take their full effect. Because of this, we advise all those who are travelling within the next few weeks or months to check whether or not they require certain vaccines. Preferably you make an appointment three weeks before you are traveling at [email protected] or call 5224239 or 5224241.
